ERP

ERP is packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning and is an integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise.

ERP systems typically include application modules to support common business activities, such as finance, accounting and human resources. ERP systems designed for higher education institutions typically also feature modules to support admissions, records and registration, financial aid and student accounts activities.

I Worked in account section, so i used erp to support common business activities, such as finance, accounting and human resources...etc, using it it makes highly normalized and easy to access and easy to retrive data from the all customers, and it helps when there is a integrated data in a database.

sql and erp=Enterprise Resource Planning applications are highly normalized. This means that there are even more tables than in a standard On-Line Transaction Processing application database. Sometimes, many more.Since the database model for ERP is OLTP, there are many small transactions. In other OLTP or reporting applications, the data sets are larger and less frequent.

High numbers of users are involved in an ERP system, since it involves so many different departments. Also, because of the number and variety of users, we expect a more distributed architecture. This means lots of operating systems, browsers, even hardware should be needed.  SO we use erp system to get ride from this problem and this are highle normalized.
